A travel visa is needed for some overseas visitors to Mainland China. The visa should be obtained at the Chinese visa office in your home country before departure.
Applications can also be made at the Chinese visa office in Hong Kong for passport holders from most, but not all, countries/regions. Allow 3 working days for a normal visa. An urgent application may be processed in 1 or 2 working days at a higher fee. Some travel agents in Hong Kong also provide Chinese visa application service.
